What is MiBytes Computer Camp?
MiBytes is a computer summer camp for high school students sponsored and run by the University of Michigan (UM) Computer Science and Engineering Division. Program content is developed and taught by UM faculty and students, ensuring the high quality learning that the university is famous for.

Technology has seeped into every aspect of our lives – from using a computer, to playing with apps on our smart phones, to launching a rocket into space. The world would be so different without computer science and engineering. Enrich your summer by attending the MiBytes computer science summer camp for high school students.

Attend Tinkering with Mobile Apps, for a week of fun and hands-on introduction to computer science! This program is perfect for students curious about exploring the basics of computer science. This program introduces the fundamental principles of computer science by building a working mobile app with MIT App Inventor. Express your creativity and discover what they are capable of in this program.
Hacking in a Digital World is designed to cover a broader range of topics in an exciting 2-week period. Campers will learn about robotics, app development, microcontrollers and even cybersecurity. Learn how to keep your information secure online, and what it’s like to hack a website. Experience with computers or programming is encouraged before attending this program, but not required.
MiBytes is a non-residential program that still immerses students in a college and technology experience by providing campus recreational activities and field trips to local tech companies.

MiBytes is offered by the University of Michigan, a leading institution in the Computer Science and Engineering field. As a MiBytes camper, students will have the opportunity to attend classes taught by UM faculty, and interact with UM computer science undergraduates. The undergraduate students can answer questions on the process of getting into college and share their experiences of being a college student! Students will tour the campus and meet professionals who will share what it is really like to work in the high-tech industry.
